A final reminder that Bully’s Big Night Out takes place on Thursday 1 May. The last few tickets are available by following the link at the foot of this page. The night is a joint celebration of Steve Bull’s 60th birthday while raising funds for Wolves Foundation. Joining Bully and I on stage for the night will be Andy Mutch, Andy Thompson, Robbie Dennison, Mike Stowell and Don Goodman.
Mutchy was the other half of a strike force for the ages. Over two glorious seasons, the pair of them plundered 168 goals to help gain Graham Turner’s side two promotions. Thommo famously signed for the club on the same day as Bully, making the short move over to Molineux in a Ford Cortina from arch-rivals West Bromwich Albion back in 1986. The mercurial talents of Dennison – equally gifted on his left or right foot – graced Molineux for most of Bully’s career, and the Northern Irishman was a regular supply line for some great goals.
Stowell kept goal for most of the 1990s and after his playing days ended he became a successful goalkeeping coach, who was part of the backroom staff during Leicester City’s incredible Premier League title triumph. And Goodman joined the Wolves strike force when he was signed by Graham Taylor in the mid-Nineties. Still a regular golf partner with Bully in retirement, Don famously played a key role in Wolves’ run to the 1998 FA Cup semi-finals, memorably despatching the then-mighty Leeds United at Elland Road along the way.
We have a few more surprise guests lined up too. The audience will also be able to enjoy plenty of footage from his 306-goal Wolves career and that’s before we get on to the most remarkable story of all – that England debut as a Third Division footballer and subsequent appearances at the 1990 World Cup Finals.
Bully’s Big Night Out is raising funds for Wolves Foundation through proceeds from ticket sales and other contributions on the night, including a raffle and auction. The club’s charity organisation does some phenomenal work in the Wolverhampton community and, as an ambassador, it’s an honour to be able to work with Bully and Wolves Foundation to share this common goal while putting on an event that supporters can be a big part of
Tickets are £25 + booking fee, which will also include one entry into a raffle to win a limited-edition retro shirt signed by Bully.
